Terms of use

Version of 02/10/2026 · 24 articles · 15 min read

Article 1 · Preamble

These general terms of use (the “Terms”) govern the use of the Compleo website (https://compleoapp.com) and of the Compleo mobile app (iOS and Android), together the “Service”. The Service is published by Teradev Studio (full details in the legal notice). By creating an account or using the Service, you accept these Terms without reservation. If you do not accept them, please do not use the Service.

Unofficial independent project. Compleo is in no way affiliated with, endorsed or approved by Nintendo, Game Freak, Creatures Inc., The Pokémon Company or the publishers of the other card games mentioned.

Article 2 · The Service

The Service offers a catalogue of cards and sealed products, personal collection tools (collection, binders, wishlists, price alerts), a card recognition scanner, estimated prices by language and condition, a progression system (XP, levels, streaks, quests, medals), member profiles and leaderboards. Some features require an account or a paid subscription (see “Premium subscription”).

Article 3 · User account

  • An account is required to use the app. It is created with “Sign in with Apple”, “Sign in with Google” or an email address and a password.
  • A sign-up by email is active immediately. The app then offers to verify your email address; this verification does not block any feature at present, but it may be required for some future features, which you will be told about in the app.
  • You agree to provide accurate information, in particular your date of birth, and to keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity carried out from your account.
  • The account’s email address cannot be changed from the app: send your request through the contact form.

Article 4 · Minimum age and minors’ accounts

  • Your date of birth is requested when you create your profile. It is used to apply the age rules below and is never shown to other members. It can only be entered once: to correct it, contact us.
  • Under 13, the profile stays private, does not appear in any leaderboard and cannot be made public.
  • United States: if the country of your App Store or Google Play account is the United States and you are under 13, sign-up is refused and the account being created is deleted immediately, without keeping your date of birth.
  • If you do not have the legal capacity to enter into a contract, you must use the Service with the permission of your parent or legal guardian, in particular before any purchase.

Article 5 · Username

  • Each member has a unique username, visible to other members if their profile is public. A temporary username is assigned when the account is created; you choose yours during the app’s onboarding.
  • You can change your username at most once every 30 days (the first choice during onboarding does not count). Your previous usernames stay reserved for you: nobody else can take them, and you can take them back at any time. Links to your previous username lead to your new username.
  • After an account is deleted, its usernames stay reserved for 90 days, then become available again.
  • A username must not impersonate a person or a brand, or be offensive, hateful, sexual in nature or unlawful. A username that breaks these rules may result in your profile being made private until you change it.

Article 6 · Public or private profile

  • You choose yourself whether your profile is public or private; no choice is made for you. You can change it at any time in “Edit profile”.
  • Public profile: your username, your photo, your bio, your level and your title, your medals, how long you have been a member, your number of cards, completed sets, Pokédex species and graded cards, your showcase and your public binders are visible to other members in the app and on a web page in your name (compleoapp.com/u/your-username), not indexed by search engines. Your links to your social networks are only visible in the app.
  • Private profile: none of this information is visible to others; your web page does not exist.
  • No amount (collection value, price paid, price of a copy) is ever visible to other members, whether in a shared binder or in a shared image.
  • Accounts created before the version dated 02/10/2026: they stay invisible and out of the leaderboards until their holder has made their choice in the app.
  • A binder is private when it is created; only you decide to make it public. A public binder has a web address that no longer changes, even if you rename it.

Article 7 · Leaderboards

  • Leaderboards count the XP earned in the app, never the value of collections. Two leaderboards: Season (XP earned during the current month, by language) and Overall (all XP, all languages combined).
  • Season: one calendar month, from the 1st at 00:00 to the last day at 23:59, Paris time, for all languages. There is one season per app language (French, English, Italian, Spanish, German). Your season is that of the app language at the start of the month; a change of language counts from the following month.
  • Who appears: members aged 13 and over, with a public profile, who have chosen to appear in the leaderboards (an option you can turn off at any time in “Edit profile”). Without a date of birth, your profile stays visible but you are not ranked.
  • Ties: with equal XP, same rank; the first to reach their score comes first.
  • Cheating: any XP obtained artificially (multiple accounts, repeated adding and removing, automation…) leads to exclusion from the leaderboards.
  • Leaderboards only show the username, the photo, the level and the XP.
  • Leaderboards are offered for fun, without any prize or reward. If prizes were ever offered, dedicated rules would be published beforehand, and you would be informed in the app.

Article 8 · XP, levels, streaks and medals

XP, levels, titles, streaks, quests and medals reward your use of the Service. They have no monetary value, are not exchangeable, transferable or convertible into money or a subscription, and their scale may change. The XP of accounts created with the previous version of the app was recalculated once, according to the scale of this version.

“Discover Compleo on …” quests. Some quests invite you to discover Compleo’s accounts on social networks (for example Instagram or TikTok). They open the app or website of the network concerned, which is subject to its own terms, and are completed when you return to Compleo, without any verification: no follow or action on the network is required or checked. Each quest only earns XP once per account, even if you change language. This XP, like referral XP, has no monetary value.

Article 9 · Referrals

  • Your code. Each account has a personal, permanent referral code and an invitation link (compleoapp.com/r/your-code), to share with people you know.
  • Who can be referred. Only accounts created after referrals were launched can enter a code, in the app (during sign-up or in Profile › Referrals), within the 7 days following their sign-up. An account can only enter one code, and this choice is final. You cannot use your own code or refer each other.
  • Rewards. Once the referred member has completed sign-up, made their first scan and verified their email address (signing in with Apple or Google counts as verification), the referred member and the referrer each receive 20 free scans and 100 XP. A referrer who has a Premium subscription when the reward is granted receives 300 XP, without free scans. Free scans do not expire and are used once the free monthly quota has run out.
  • Cap. A referrer is rewarded for 10 referred members at most per month (Paris time). Beyond that, the referral remains valid and the referred member receives their reward, but the referrer does not. Referral XP counts in the leaderboards like any other XP.
  • No monetary value. Free scans and XP are not refundable, exchangeable, transferable or convertible into money or a subscription. They disappear with the account.
  • Abuse. Creating accounts for the sole purpose of obtaining rewards (fake accounts, multiple accounts, self-referral) may lead to the withdrawal of the rewards concerned, exclusion from referrals and the leaderboards, and the suspension or deletion of the account.
  • The figures above may change; those that apply are shown in the app at the time of the referral.

Article 10 · Member content

  • You remain responsible for the content you publish or create through the Service: username, photo, bio, links to your social networks, showcase, binders, lists. You guarantee that you hold the necessary rights to your photo.
  • Profile photos are reviewed before other members can see them: until it is approved, a new photo is visible only to you. A rejected photo is deleted and you are informed in the app.
  • You grant us, for as long as it remains in the Service, the non-exclusive, free right to host and reproduce it and, for the content you make public, to show it to other members and on your web page, for the sole purpose of providing the Service.
  • The following are prohibited: unlawful, offensive, hateful, discriminatory, violent or sexual content, harassment, impersonation, unsolicited advertising and publishing other people’s personal data.
  • In the event of a breach, the publisher may remove a photo, clear a bio, make a profile private, exclude from the leaderboards, suspend or delete an account.

Article 11 · Reporting and blocking

  • From a member’s profile, the “⋯” menu lets you report them (username, photo, bio or other reason). Every report is reviewed.
  • You can also block a member: you can no longer see their profile and they can no longer see yours. You can unblock them from “Blocked members”, in “Edit profile”.
  • To report unlawful content outside the app, use the contact form.

Article 12 · Free version and limits

The Service can be used for free, with certain limits (for example a number of cards, sealed products and binders in your collection, and a number of scans per month). These limits are shown in the app and on the Pricing page, and may change. The Premium subscription removes them. Free scans (for example from referrals) are added to the monthly quota: they are used once this quota has run out and do not expire.

Founding members. Accounts created before the release of the version dated 02/10/2026 keep, without a subscription and for as long as the account exists, an unlimited number of cards in their collection. The other limits of the free version (sealed products, scans, binders) apply.

Article 13 · Premium subscription

The Compleo Premium subscription (“Premium”) unlocks advanced features, in particular an unlimited collection and scanner, the full price history and card-by-card analysis. The exact scope is shown in the app at the time of subscription.

Who sells the subscription. Premium is sold and collected by Apple (App Store) or by Google (Google Play), depending on the phone on which you buy it; it is governed by their terms in addition to these Terms. On iOS, Apple’s standard end user licence agreement applies.

Plans and prices.

  • Premium is offered as a monthly or yearly subscription and, when the app offers it, as a one-time purchase giving lifetime access. The duration and price of each plan are shown in the app before any purchase, in the currency of your store.
  • Prices may vary by country and may change; any change is shown to you before renewal, in accordance with App Store and Google Play rules.
  • Lifetime access is valid for the lifetime of the account and of the Service.

Billing, renewal and cancellation.

  • Payment is charged to your App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google) account when you confirm the purchase.
  • The subscription renews automatically for the same period unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Renewal is charged within 24 hours before the end of the period.
  • You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings. A subscription bought on the App Store is managed in the App Store, and a subscription bought on Google Play is managed in Google Play, even if you then use your account on another phone. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period; you keep Premium until then.
  • Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription.
  • Refunds. Purchases are handled by Apple and Google; refund requests are subject to their respective policies and to applicable law. In the European Union, the right of withdrawal for digital content supplied immediately may not apply once performance has begun with your consent.
  • Where applicable, any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you subscribe.

Article 14 · Estimated prices

The prices shown are estimates, calculated from prices published by third-party marketplaces (Cardmarket, TCGplayer) and from completed sales on eBay for graded cards, according to the published price method: lowest Near Mint price in the card’s language, adjusted by a coefficient according to condition. Each price shows its source and its date. When no price exists for a pattern reverse holo, the app may show the price of the regular reverse holo of the same card, marked “≈ reverse price”; for other variants without a price, it may show the price of the standard variant of the same card, marked “≈ standard variant price”. These estimates are provided for information only, may contain errors or delays, and are neither an offer to sell nor a guarantee of value. They should not be used as the basis for a buying or selling decision without independent verification.

Article 15 · Links to marketplaces

The buttons to Cardmarket, TCGplayer, eBay or Vinted open the website of these marketplaces; the publisher is not a party to the purchases you make there. Some links to eBay may be affiliate links: the publisher may then receive a commission from eBay on a purchase, at no extra cost to you and with no effect on the prices shown in the Service.

Article 16 · Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for illegal purposes or in breach of these Terms;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, its servers or other users’ accounts;
  • extract, copy or reuse the Service’s content on a large scale (scraping) without permission;
  • disrupt the Service or circumvent its technical limits (including those of the free version);
  • create several accounts or automate actions to earn XP or distort the leaderboards;
  • harass, threaten or deceive other members;
  • use the Service for solicitation or advertising.

Article 17 · Intellectual property

All original content of the Service (texts, layout, graphic elements, logo, code) is protected by intellectual property law. Any reproduction, representation, modification or distribution, in whole or in part, without prior authorisation is prohibited.

The names, images, characters and elements related to the Pokémon franchise are trademarks or property of their respective owners (Nintendo, Game Freak, Creatures Inc. and The Pokémon Company), as are those of the other card games mentioned. They are used for information purposes, as part of an unofficial independent project, with no intent to cause confusion with the official brands.

Article 18 · Availability and warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee that it will be available without interruption or free of errors, or that the data (including prices) will be accurate, complete or up to date.

Article 19 · Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the publisher cannot be held liable for indirect damage, loss of data or financial loss resulting from the use of, or inability to use, the Service, nor for decisions made on the basis of the information (including prices) it contains. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, in particular mandatory consumer rights.

Article 20 · Personal data

The processing of your personal data is described in our Privacy policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms.

Article 21 · Account deletion, suspension and termination

  • You can delete your account at any time from the app (Profile › Delete my account). The deletion becomes final 30 days after your request; you are signed out of your devices, and signing in again before that date cancels it. What is deleted and what is kept is described in the Privacy policy.
  • If your account uses “Sign in with Apple”, the deletion asks you to confirm with Apple and revokes Compleo’s access to your Apple identifier.
  • We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you breach these Terms. Your subscription is managed through your App Store or Google Play account (see “Premium subscription”).

Article 22 · Changes to the Terms

We may change these Terms to reflect legal or technical changes or changes to the Service. The date of the version in force is shown at the top of this page. In the event of a significant change, you will be informed in the app; if you do not accept it, you can delete your account. Changes affecting the subscription also follow App Store and Google Play rules.

Article 23 · Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Belgian law. Any dispute falls within the jurisdiction of the courts of Brussels, subject to the mandatory rules applicable to consumers.

Article 24 · Contact

For any question about these Terms, contact us through the contact form.
